I received a call today stating that my social security number was used to launder money in El Paso Texas. They asked for my phone number address and last four digits of my social security number. I asked them to prove they were not a scam by phoning my local police department and they somehow had the caller ID show my police department name. When I said I was driving to the police station to speak to them in person they stated I would be arrested on the spot without a lawyer. Then I said that’s not possible and they hung up the phone.
