Type of a scam Phishing
They called pretending to be an officer with local law enforcement (using the name of an actual officer), stating that warrants were being issued for me failing to appear for a Federal Grand Jury. They claimed that it appeared there was a processing error with the summons and they were working to clear things up. I was asked to come in to sign paperwork, but told that I had to post a bond before coming in so I would not be arrested. The bond had to be posted with MoneyPak cards. After doing so, I realized what was going on and contacted law enforcement. I filed a fraud claim with MoneyPak, but I do not expect much to come of it given its track record on working these types of claims.
