I was working on my computer and a pop-up appeared stating my computer was at risk and had been effected by a virus.
The statement was followed by a phone number to call, saying it was working with Apple to fix all problems.
I called to number and continued to ask questions which scared me into taking this service to fix my computer.
The cost was $300 to keep my computer safe for a year.
I thought about what was happening and decided to cancel the subscription and turn my computer off. My computer then was unusable! I needed to take it to a legitimate computer tech and spending $175 to completely renew my computer to its original state. I was without my computer for 6 days and Apple needed to be contacted to help fix the problem this company caused. I was able to cancel the $300 transaction, but I’m out the $175 for repair!
