Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received an email asking me to be an evaluator of products and services for Target. The email and form looked very realistic. I fell for it, entered my name, email, and address. I felt like it wasn’t asking for too much personal information.
It then became clear that this was a scam and not legitimate. I received a poorly worded letter printed on a home-grade ink jet printer with strange directions and a check for $2,972. Since that letter I have received three follow up emails asking me to act on the directions in the letter.
I have not followed any of the directions nor have I have cashed the check.
