Type of a scam Phishing
Discount deals website, claiming significant discounts on products, tickets, etc in the Toronto area. When you are attempt to purchase a deal, it asks for your personal details including name, address, phone number, as well as the credit card information. After you press submit, it states that the charges did not go through and the credit card info is invalid. The phone number provided is invalid and says ‘temporarily out of service’, and the emails to the provided address bounce back.
The discounts are not verified or authorized by the companies (ie Ripley’s Aquarium), and there are reports in the news of similar phishing scams.

Selling discounted tickets to The Ripleys Aquarium in Toronto. Scammers called The Group Deals 1-800-098-8841. Get your credit card information, e-mail address and you get your credit cards compromised. Reported on CTV this summer.
