Type of a scam Tech Support

Warning appeared on monitor that my computer was being attacked and someone was trying to access my files. I could not clear the screen. It said that I must call the number immediately to avoid identity theft.

Because I have never seen such a thing before, I was shocked and scared. I was very foolish: instead of turning it off and calling my GeekSquad (I have a contract with them) I allowed the person to remote access! When I told them I did not want the service because I already had a tech contract, they said that this was different and that GeekSquad would not be able to help me this time. They also told me that because this time was different, my Kaspersky security was not working. The more they talked about it, the more nervous and scared I became.

Finally, I gave them my credit card number and signed an order for $199. Then they pressured me to buy a four-year contract with them. The pressure was so strong that I was afraid they would not fix it unless I signed up for four years. That would have been hundreds of dollars more. Thankfully, I finally got off paying just the $199.

Now I am afraid because they have my credit card number.
