Type of a scam Debt Collections
Last week I received a phone call from a process server who announced when she was going to show up at my residence and place of employment, stated I would need 2 valid forms of ID and have my supervisor sign off on the summons. The next day another lady called stating she was with One Source Consulting and I was going to be charged with 3 charges in Champaign County 2 being Civil and 1 being Criminal for check fraud and that my original pay off was over $2200.00 but they would settle for $1585.00 IF I paid by last Friday. I began to call around to verify this company. I called Champaign County Illinois Police and the Courthouse and was told that this was a scam and not to give any money to them. I also contacted my attorney, Terrance Miles, of Danville Illinois and he advised me that if they called again, to give them his number and ask not to be called again. I did that on Friday of Last week. Today at 3:00 p.m., I received another call, this time from OSC Legal Department demanding money and if money was not received then he would report me as a direct refusal to cooperate and formal charges would be filed with Champaign County.
