Type of a scam Identity Theft
I am a freelancer and I found this company in Upwork. They posted a job for a ‘Dispatcher’ position. I applied. We did a formal interview via Google Hangouts. I was offered the ‘position’ and they tried to deposit $4,900.00 exactly into my bank account for me to ‘buy supplies’ for my home office as their remote representative. My bank noticed that it was a bad check and that the account it was sent from had been closed that morning. I had to call the police, file a report, and more. They currently have my personal information and I am fighting hard to keep my privacy. They have continued to harass me, despite the cease and desist order given to them by the police.
This ‘company’ must be shut down IMMEDIATELY so that this does not continue to happen to others! I was lucky enough to catch everything before it got any uglier, but it could have been much worse. Right now, my identity is stolen. Please, have these Neanderthals arrested for identity theft.
