Type of a scam Counterfeit Product
On May 10th I purchased a Roku Premier. On May 11th I tried to activate the new system and was directed on screen to call a number to get a new code to activate the product. I was told there would be a $69.95 charge plus tax, $75 total to activate/register the product. I questioned this and was told that Roku had initiated this new charge in February of 2020. I paid the fee and my system was activated. Afterwards I did further research and found out that Roku never charges a fee. I believe I have been scammed! I’ve contacted my credit card company about this.
