This company pays google to have their website pop up on the top of the list when you search for ‘birth certificate’ and your state. They make it appear that you are ordering a birth certificate, but in fact what you are paying for is for them to fill out a free PDF with the information that you provide. You still have to mail the PDF to your state birth certificate office. In fine print at the bottom of their pngage, they state: "Legal Disclaimer: O.V.U.S. (Onlinevitalus) is a privately owned website that is not affiliated, owned or operated by the U.S. Government or any government agency. O.V.U.S. is an independent company that provides customers an easy form so that they can prepare their applications before the corresponding Health Department state office. As well, we do offer assistance services. All these services are available from $29. Speed up the process of filling in the application forms and save time just going once to the Health Department to complete the necessary state requirements in order to have your certificate. If you are looking for blank forms, you can get them for free at the relevant state offices. By paying and using our private services you confirm that you acknowledge the above statements." Beware of this company.

I wanted to get a certified copy of my birth certificate to apply for a RealID. I searched for how to do this. The top hit was this website. They appeared to be part of US government and requested a LOT of personal information that would be required to get a copy of my birth certificate. Then they charged me $47 and I thought I’d receive my certificate in the mail in a couple of weeks. However, once they received my payment they informed me that I needed to go to my home state’s website and complete the form and pay the required fee to receive my birth certificate. So, for $47 they received a LOT of personal information and I received a link to my home state’s website. I most concerned about my personal information. I requested a refund and asked that all personal information be expunged from their records. Not sure what that will do.

I needed a copy of my birth certificate for my Real ID drivers license renewal for the state of Michigan. I looked up online on how to get a copy. This site was the only one visible, for Ohio and several other states. It looked legitimate so I filled out the online form and paid the fee. When I looked at the forms it emailed to me I noticed that I had to pay another fee for the certificate. Suspicious I checked my credit card account and found the this company is in Barcelona. I checked the ScamPulse.com page and saw this exact scam happened to someone else. I call the card company and let them know and disputed the charge.

Online Vital US appears to be an official website to order birth certificates, but it is a private website that "checks the order" for accuracy and does not order the birth certificate.
The website charges $47 without providing any service.

I thought that I was purchasing my birth certificate because I needed it to apply for my passport to go on a cruise. I found out later when I had not received my birth certificate after calling the city in which I was born that they didn’t have a record on file that I had ordered my birth certificate. I contacted the website that I applied for my birth certificate and requested a refund and they told me that they had to go through their customer service and that they would get back to me within 24 hours, they got back to me and said that my refund was approved and that they would return my money within 15 days, I never received my money so I contacted them again the same thing. This has been since May 17, 2018 and no refund.

I searched for an online service to order a birth certificate. This company was the first ad to show up on the list. I was in a hurry, so didn’t carefully check the website before ordering. The site looked very legitimate and the form I filled out was appropriate for the State Health Department, from which the birth certificate would come. The company charged $49 for the service. On their website it said the birth certificate should arrive within 15 to 20 days. When that time period lapsed, I sent an email inquiring about the birth certificate. A generic email response came immediately. A week later I again inquired by email, and received the same email in response. At that point I tried to find a phone number to contact the company, and saw they are located in Spain. Also did more online research and found reports of other is being scammed by the same company.

I filled out a form for these people thinking that I was requesting a birth certificate and expected to hear something from them within a couple days, and then later would receive the certificate. I realize now that I was supposed to only be paying for them to go over the form I filled out and correct for errors. Then I would have to go somewhere else and pay for the actual birth certificate. They took my $49 via credit card the next day and then I never heard from them again. Very scary because I gave them all sorts of personal info including my Social Security number. Now they do not respond to online inquiries. I am trying to get the charge removed by my credit card company.
