Type of a scam Debt Collections
I recieved a call from 2692169899 saying that they were a debt collecter and their client was filling a law suit against me. They gave my name but a wrong address and birthdate(im guessing to get me to correct them). I told them i had no idea who they were looking for but it wasnt me. A few days later the same number called my parents house and left a voicemail saying they were looking for me and that they would be at my house or employeer to have me sign a legal document. They left a phone number 18669874332 with a claim number. I called the number. The man that answered said he was from NORTHEND FINANCIAL and he was collecting a $7,000 debt from 12/2013(which i never owed). He had my first and last name and the last four digits of my SSN. He would not give me the address of the company he worked for, he wouldnt let me talk to a manager..he was very rude. He was able to get my year of birth and city and state before i caught on it was a scam. The local and federal government agencies were notified. The local police department confirmed that it was in fact a scam.
