Type of a scam Employment
I was contacted by this woman who claimed to have found my resume on Indeed. I was told that they were considering me for a global supply chain manager job and that I was one of several candidates for this position. The company would contact me on Monday if the following week to let me know if I had been selected for the position.
Sure enough the following Monday I received an email that I had been selected for the position and that I needed to fill out some paperwork and return it to them quickly so I could start working the following week. When I did start I was to receive a 2 week employment trial where my performance would be evaluated by the company. My job was to price whatever items I was told to price (locally), drive to the location where the items were, negotiate a better price or go to another company for the same product(s) and negotiate a better price than the first place I went, then use a company credit card to buy the product(s), then ship them off to the customer.
If all went well, after 2 weeks I would be flown to New York City for the actual interview and once accepted I would be paid $8,600/month in salary not including bonuses and commissions.
I checked the company’s website and there wasn’t much there. I emailed back the lady who was offering the job and I asked why I couldn’t find their business on the BBB website and I saw a scam that another person reported that sounded somewhat similar to my situation.
