Kevon Marrey of the Step Research Group was surveying individuals using Survey Monkey. Once an individual participated in a survey, Mr Marrey sent a priority express envelope containing instructions to particpiate in a secret shopper exercise.
The envelope included a false cashiers check worth $1778. Instructions explained for the secret shopper to deposit the check, then send $1400 to Kevon Marrey in Atlanta, GA.
