In the case of selling a car, scammer asks you to get a vin check of the vehicle and send it to their email address. A fair request. But little do you know, the address link they send you is unsecured, thus having a http:// before the website as opposed to https as in secure. The credit card you use to buy a vin report is then sent to the scammers email address where they could use your information freely.
