Type of a scam COVID-19

Placed order for some disinfecting wipes on May 24, 2020, via “nulude.com” website. (It should be reiterated that this item is in high demand during the current health crises and many companies are exploiting this situation.) On the surface, company’s website does not appear out of the ordinary and advertises many deal savings on various items as "limited offers." I placed an order for TWO (2) containers of disinfecting wipes, for which each is supposed to contain 100, for a total of 200 wipes. My credit card was charged immediately. However, upon closely reviewing the company’s confirmation documentation, discrepancies were noted.

The company posts NO contact information other than a rather strange (appears to be personal) e-mail address. They post no physical address or phone number, nor is this information shown in my bank’s credit card transaction information.

When I first e-mailed the company on June 8, 2020, I questioned two things:

(1) Discrepancy in their documentation regarding the quantity of disinfectant wipes I had ordered. In one place it was stating the order summary comprised of ONE (1) container of 100 pieces, and in another place it was showing 2 containers, which is what I had actually ordered and for which I was charged.

(2) At the time I placed this order, they were advertising quality “7-12 day express shipping.” When attempting to track the order 15 days after placing it, the provided tracking information link showed the package (containing only HALF of the quantity ordered) to be in CHINA, and there has been no tracking information provided yet for the US side of the shipment.

I requested to know WHEN I could viably expect to actually RECEIVE my order — a question that has been consistently circumvented by the business.

It should be noted that I had been given NO upfront information, when ordering, indicating their products ship from China.

The response I received to my inquiry (first identified as coming from “Katy, the intelligent assistant”) was incredibly unprofessional, horribly verbalized, and did not answer even ONE of my direct questions. It basically said nothing except a bunch of self-serving gibberish, in which they offered lame excuses, and I was told to “be more patient” and “understand inconveniences.” With each ongoing communication, they continued to blame the COVID-19 situation on custom delays (a situation which they had to be well aware of when selling this merchandise in the first place, all the while advertising quality “7 to 12 day express shipping” — including an additional surcharge for shipping insurance).

They have also gone so far as to blame the "rioting" situation (although not sure which area of the world they are referring to in trying to blame "rioting" on their shipping delays). They have blamed "weather heat" on the fact that their tracking system is not reliable.

The tracking venue is “17TRACK APP” — which has no “real time” tracking and is yet another red flag. After some weeks, it eventually showed the package leaving China and heading toward Los Angeles, but the provided tracking information they issued weeks ago does not show up (as of yet) on any of the routine United States shipping sites, which continually state "package cannot be found."

As soon as I started receiving ambiguous and nonsensical responses from this company, I demanded immediate refund of all payment made, which was summarily ignored by company.

As time went on, suspecting that I had likely been duped, I did a bit more online in-depth research on this company and found very little information available, except for what is noted on “Scamadviser,” advising that the trust score on “nulude.com” is “very low” and citing a number of reasons for the score (including, but not limited to, the fact that their website has been hidden and does not show its true identity).

It also indicated that there was “strong indicator that the website may be a scam.”

I officially disputed the credit card charge with my bank and have been credited by my bank for the full amount paid. Company continues to keep stalling my objections to their practices by offering me a "discount" on this merchandise which, to this date, such merchandise has still not been received.

The sole purpose of this report is to WARN OTHERS of this company’s practices.

Having lost all confidence at that point in the legitimacy of this company, I demanded immediate refund of all payment made, which was summarily ignored by company.

Please be VERY AWARE of “nulude.com,” and VET everything before purchasing anything online (from anywhere). From here on out, I will be doing business ONLY with companies who are well established, have known reputations for accountability with their business processes, and with which customers have viable recourse for resolution when things go wrong.

And PS: If the “deal” seems too good to be true — there is probably a viable reason to question why.
