2 days ago I contacted this guy on behalf of his craigslist post stating that he had Maltese puppies for sale. We messaged through email for a couple days because he told he was going to have them shipped to me because he lived in New York. Foolishly I believed him. Originally he wanted me to pay $250. And I wasn’t going to pay it. So I gave him $135, then I told him I’d give him the rest once I received the puppy. Today he told me that he shipped the puppy and then sent me a document that I had to sign to claim ownership of the dog. Then after that, the "company" contacted me saying that the dog couldn’t travel in the cage it was in so I had to pay $820 for a crate with air condition. Then they’d pay me the full amount back, after delivery. I didn’t do it, so they said that they were going to call the police and have them charge me with abandonment. I was scared, I didn’t know what to do. I finally told my dad everything and he instantly looked into it and realized it was all a scam.
