Type of a scam Online Purchase

The first advertisements I had seen from Storm Bottle were on Facebook. In November, I was looking for a unique Christmas gift when I recalled seeing an ad about their weather device. I found their website, checked out it’s credibility by searching for reviews on other sites and didn’t see any red flags at the time. I went ahead and ordered the product via credit card, which was immediately charged to my card. The website stated I would receive my order in 4-5 weeks being an international shipment. They offered tracking services through 17track.net, and when I hadn’t received any tracking updates or changes in two weeks I thought I would inquire with the company via email. They assured me this was normal. A week later there was still no change, so I emailed and expressed my concern with receiving the product on time for Christmas. They replied and again assured me my package was on its way and this was normal. Christmas passes, still no product. I then contacted them several times over the following THREE MONTHS after I submitted my order. The many "customer representatives" I spoke to (Ivy, Christina, Kim) would go on to explain that my package ran into "unexpected delays", asking me to wait an additional 8-12 days for the package to arrive… After waiting three months I have asked for compensation and are awaiting their response.

Even if this company does offer a refund, I will still lose money due to the US/CAD exchange rate, despite the fact that the product was listed in CAD on the website until after checkout where the charge was shown in USD.

I have since went to their website and it is currently down for what they claim are improvements to their "beautiful store"…
