I have received three voice messages in the last month asking me to return the call regarding my student loan. Each phone message had the same female voice, but gave a different phone number to return the call and a different case number. One caller’s name had the same last name as my maiden name. When I called them back a recorded message in a male voice said that rules had changed in March 2019 regarding student loans and to remain on the line to speak with a representative. There were three options: 1-Still enrolled in school, 2-Student loan under $10K, and 3-Student loan over $10K. When I pressed 1 or 2, I received a message that I was being removed from their list and they would no longer contact me. When I pressed 3 I was put through to a representative. I spoke to a woman and mentioned that I had three messages regarding my loan and 3 different case numbers. She asked me for the case numbers one at a time. After each number, she said yes, Mrs Stevens we have your information here. I waited until I had given her all three case numbers then I told her that I was not Mrs. Stevens and that I didn’t have any student loans. She immediately said she would not contact me again.
