Type of a scam Employment
While job seeking online, I received an email that looked like a legitimate job posting site like so many others I had received which were perfectly valid. Being interested in a job post, I clicked on the link and was taken to "startjobs.co" where a job was posted for Costco stating they were in need of 60 employees for their call center in Elizabeth, NJ. I was too eager and did not research the site or the Costco facility before starting the application process. If I had, I would have learned that there is no Costco in Elizabeth and that this is a phishing site. Immediately after entering my email address and cell number I was hammered and scam calls, spam texts and more fake emails prompting me to click on links to have a "grant" direct deposited into my banking account. I googled one of the scam numbers that called me and it was attached to a website that exposed various people’s full name, date of birth, social security numbers, cell numbers and credit card numbers with expiration date and codes from the back of the card. Of course I won’t post that site here but I did take a screen shot of that site and will report it to a rep from BBB if requested.
