I received a message on LinkedIn from a friend asking to be a secret shopper for Coca-Cola, the company she works for. I applied but later realized it was probably something I didn’t really want to do. I ignored the multiple texts and emails I received from them until today when I got a letter in the mail. It contained instructions for a task and a check for almost $3000. Immediately I became skeptical and found out that my friends LinkedIn had been hacked recently. After further research I discovered that this company is a scam. I am thankful I didn’t actually deposit the check and that I can take the correct actions to not be apart of this scam.
