I answered the call because the caller Id said State Farm. I have insurance with State Farm, so I answered. When I answered I said "This is Ray, can I help you." The response was "can you hear me." I replied "yes." They answered "I’m in the hospital." I responded, "Who is this" and they were gone. Now I’m concerned that they are going to try to use the fact that I said "yes" in a doctored recording to claim I agreed to something I never heard of and attempt to intimidate me with the recording. I know something similar happened to a friend a few years ago. I’m reporting it primarily to document what happened, if I’m contacted by them later.

The called in regards to an accident that happened about a car that was sold over 6 months ago. The person never stated his name even when asked evaded the question with "this is my direct number". He said he was with State Farm Insurance and that we had to pay 15,000.00 or my husband could lose his license. I don’t know how he got the information or maybe it’s from the equifax breach, but I reported it to my State Farm agent and they said it was most likely a scam caller and to not give out any personal information. When researching the phone number, I saw that has been marked REPEATEDLY as spam/scam and harassment.
