Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill
We received an invoice from SBC Media Group on 2/14 – invoice was sent to our account payables department. We have no record of placing any media with this organization even though they claim that it’s an "annual insertion order" to be placed in a directory. Our AP department wasn’t aware that this was a scam and tried to contact the billing email and phone number, as they wanted to pay it. They are not set up in our system. Thankfully I was able to stop the process before we got further in. The scamming company has made this look very realistic with having our CMO’s name on the invoice, address, and a website.
