Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
The scam pretended to be an opportunity to be a paid secret shopper. They sent me a large check that was supposed to include the money to make a purchase at Wal-Mart, to send money using the Wal-Mart to Wal-Mart system, and my "compensation." This was all under the guise that I was completing an evaluation of Wal-Mart. I completed one of the transactions and the communication coming from the people running the scam began to get shifty. From that moment on, I began researching. Sure enough, the check was falsified. Being that I had already done one of the transactions, I was held accountable for the funds used.
