I received a phone call from what they established themselves as Social Security Department of Houston TX. They confirmed the last 4 digits of Social Security and zip code. Then proceeded to tell me my vehicle was found abandoned with 2 pounds of cocaine, in a state I do not live in. The scammer continued asking me for my bank information as they were going to freeze all my accounts.

I received a voicemail message stating it is urgent to call back because they were going to cancel my Social Security number. I called back and the man stated he was Officer James Anderson out of El Paso Texas and asked me to verify the information he had. Name, Address and last 4 of my social. He went on to tell me if I didn’t cooperate I would be arrested for many things. One was a car was found in Texas with Blood and 22 lbs. of cocaine and it was rented with my social. He gave me a case number and his badge number.

I told him if it were true to go ahead with sending my local police to arrest me.

I ended the call letting him know I was going to contact my local police department on my own and we hung up. I tried to call the number again and did not get through.

Horrible people and hopefully they get caught.

Phone call. Male voice saying in automated tone. Notification that due to suspicious activity with your Social Security number, your Social Security payments have been suspended. If you want more information regarding this action, dial 1 for assistance.

Listened to recorded answering machine message. Did not answer the actual phone call. Not sure of what to do other than either call the SS department, check the website or just wait.

I got a message that says: our department is to inform you that there are legal enforcement actions filed against you and your social security number has been suspected for fraudulent activities. So once you get this message call us back as soon as possible on number before we begin legal proceeding against you that is 512-xxx-xxxx or 918-xxx-xxxx, I repeat 511-xxx-xxxx. I contacted the social security department here in Kansas city and was told they would not leave a message like this and that they would send all information in writing. So next I called they number that was on my message and advised them that I called social security directly and that they advised this was fraudulent. Call the gentlemen named Ahmed said and I quote if this is fraud why you calling me then I said you called me in just returning the call so then he hung up the phone I called back and got the same person and told him not to call my number again and he said ok.

Received a telephone call from an automated system claiming to be a message from the "Social Security Department". They claimed my Social Security number is under investigation and to call them back immediately to verify my information. I know that the Social Security Administration will NEVER cold call anyone with a message asking for personal information, so I immediately blocked the number on my telephone and came here to pass along my experience, hoping it will help others to not fall for this robocall scam to steal your personal information.

I answered a telephone call from an unknown number marked from El Paso, TX and received an automatic recording alerting me that there has been some type of criminal activity recorded with my social security information and that to call that number back immediately before they start an investigation. I’ve never received this type of call before, so I thought my social security had already been compromised based on this recording. So I called back and an "Officer so and so with the Social Security Services" answered and I told him about the recording that I just heard over the phone. He told me he would need some information in order to assess the situation, but before he could ask for any information, I asked to give me some more information about who he was, where the exact location he was calling from, with proper identification and work ID. I was already irate about the situation and spoke to this so-called officer in a rather harsh tone and he hung up. I tried calling back several times, but it seems my number was blocked as it wasn’t going through. I tried calling this fraud agency back with a blocked number, but to no avail. I called the local police department to alert them of what is going on and I was referred to the Better Business Bureau.

A phone number called from New York and when I answered it was an automated system advising that my Social Security Number has been compromised. It then transferred me to a man with a foreign accent claiming to be with the Social Security Department and that there had been fraudulent activity on my Social. He said that it was in association with money laundering and drug trafficking on the border of southern Texas. He then began to ask for my bank information. I disconnected the line but they called back under my caller ID as 911. I answered however it was the same man. I disconnected again.

Received a robo phone call from 888-810-9057 stating “this is a courtesy call from the Social Security Department informing you that we have suspended your Social Security number due to suspicious activity. To learn more, press 1.

Luckily I suspected this was a bogus call. I hung up and dialed the Social Security Office directly and found out that it was, in fact, an imposter trying to get people to confirm their name and Social Security number for identify theft purposes.

Left the following message on my voice mail it was an electronic call. "When you get this message kindly call back to us at the earliest possible before we begin with legal proceedings." When I called said they were social security and that my SS number had been detected related to fraudulent activity. They asked my name–I gave it probably stupid but wanted to see where which was going. Asked for my social and I refused to give it. Told him I didn’t think he was with social security so asked for his name and ID number (usually this gets me a dial tone), but he responded Gary Cooper IOM 2576 (Indian accent with an actors name real original). He said he had to have my social to verify my identity–I told him he should have it and he said he did but just needed to verify. I then proceeded to tell him what I thought of him and said I would call SS to verify his legitimacy. Putting this one in here because he was more persistent and believable than most.

On Wednesday, May 16, 2018 I received a phone call from an unknown caller. My phone is set to not accept any calls from numbers not in my contacts so it went straight to my voicemail. The message was one of those that are on a constant repeat so when my voicemail started to record part of the message had already been played. Here is what I received. The message started out with what sounded like a word ending in "est" or "rest" then went on to say the fallowing—"and we have received legal notice from The Federal Crime and Invesgtigation Department to blacklist your social security number. Again this call is from Social Security Department and the number to the devision is (214) 613-8738.

The recording was the voice of a female but it sounded like a computerized voice. It didn’t sound like a real person. When I called the number which is not in my listing of The Social Security Department I have on my phone, (I have everyone that is associated with Amarillo and Texas) it answered with another recording of a man who sounded like he was from India saying that I had reached the customer service department of the Social Security Department and that there was no one available to answer my call. To please leave a message and my call would be returned as soon as possible.

A woman called my 90 years old mother and said she was from the Social Security Department and that her account had been erased. They asked her for her social security number, date of birth, and the last 4 digits of her credit union account number. They asked for her routing number, my mom was taking a long time, and they hung up. I called them back, and they answered hello, then she said she was with a credit company. I told her I was reporting her and she hung up. The woman had a slight accent. Caller ID said Kingston, Jamaica. This is not the first call we’ve received from this number. They called last week, and hung up on them because caller ID said Jamaica.
