I received an alert on my computer that my computer had been hacked and I had to contact a number as soon as possible or I would lose my hard drive. I then called the number provided on my computer and spoke to a gentleman who stated that he would give me some signs to restart my remote. After I entered the signs I then was able to regain my hard drive. The gentleman then was able to gain access to my computer. He stated that I would need to purchased a remote protection plan and a hard drive protection plan. He offered several with the least expensive being $200.00. I told him that I would see if I could purchase the plan through an Apple Store but he stated it would cost me double. I told him I could not afford the protection but I may be able to borrow the money as he stated that they did not take credit cards. At that time he stated me would call me tomorrow (January 12, 2017).
