Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received an email with information that looked legitimate in regards to an assignment as a mystery shopper. A few weeks before I signed up as a mystery shopper with what I believed was a legitimate company. The email asked asked for my name, address and if I was male or female. It stated they would send me further information regarding my assignment. A week later I received a priority mail envelope with a cashiers check for $2350 and instructions to text the (coordinator when you receive the letter) and promptly deposit the check. Contact the coordinator via text message when the check is deposited. The next step was to go to 2 different wal-mart stores and purchase 4 gift cards for $400 each. Instructions are to time the transaction, and evaluating the performance of the teller. The next step is to send a text when you have completed this step and then scratch off the back of the card to reveal the 16 digit card numbers and text a photo of each card to the (coordinator) to see if the (banned gift cards are being used at this store.) The next step is to go to a second wal-mart and purchase 3 gift cards for $400 and repeat the above steps. Then text done to get your second assignment.
