Type of a scam Employment
I applied to be an Admin Assistant online and was contacted within about a week by Mavenir Services (I do not believe this to the real company, just someone using their credentials). Things seemed kind of normal until they offered me a job despite having 14 other candidates. They asked me for various information which is all public so it didn’t seem terribly fishy. After getting into some details they said they would be sending a check to my address to pay for equipment I would need to do the job and that I had to use the money to buy it from their vendors. This is when I knew it was a scam. I tried to politely decline and tell them that I would get back to them later after talking it over with my roommate. They then said that I need to contact them back within two hours.
