Type of a scam Online Purchase
Online seller of estate sales, in my case a firearm on GunBroker. Sent money order as payment, will not accept credit cards or other electronic payment. Then he says he never received payment, so you send another. But I made an inquiry through USPS, they tracked it to his bank where he cashed it. So now I paid double the amount of the items worth.
When I confronted him, he made up excuses for awhile, kept putting me off. When I told him I had photocopy of the MO from his bank that it was cashed he asked for pics. I sent the pics via email. Then he says he wants me to send him the actual photo copy through the mail. I told him he has the pics, he can match the date stamped by the bank for deposit, & check his own records to verify himself. He got mad, said I have to do things his way or he won’t deal with me at all.
I have filed a claim through GunBroker, & will be seeking legal measures, including contacting the BATF&E. Checking his feedback profile revealed he has done this to others, not just me. His profile name is – estateseller.
