Type of a scam Travel/Vacations
First, let me say that there apparently is a legitimate company at this address with that name. It appears that someone is using their info to legitimize themselves.
I received a call from Michael at Resort Owners Services offering to purchase my vacation ownership. He offered well above the price we paid so of course I was intrigued. He sent confirmation letters and indicated that a title search was necessary. The title company was called Fund South LLC at *** * *** *** *** ***, Charlotte NC. I should say that this may also be a legit company, I don’t know. They instructed me to wire $825 to a bank in Mexico (they indicated that’s where the purchaser was) for the title search fee, and assured me that I would be reimbursed that amount upon closing. Not wanting to wire money for a possible scam, I did some more digging.
I logged on to the Ohio corporation search and found that the resident agent for Resort Owners LLC is an attorney named *** ***. I found his information which I trusted as legit because he has a law license. I emailed him and he said that it was a scam, his client was not involved and they were very concerned about their name being used in this manner.
