Type of a scam Identity Theft
My Elderly Uncle was recently diagnosed with dementia. While getting his finances and medical care in order, we noticed that he had a business registered to his name and address. The name of the business is Radiconn web services, we have no prior knowledge of this blast 4 digits of a credit card usiness, nor does my uncle have the expertise to perform any web services or web design. The business does not operate out of his home (the address registered to this business).
We performed a google search and contacted the phone number 1-855-241-0145. A women stating that she was a customer service representative answered the phone and asked for the zip code, and first and last name on the account. We gave her my uncle’s zip code and first and last name and she said there was no account found. We then hung up the phone. We called back to ask to speak to a supervisor and 3 times the phone was answered and hung up. On the 4th call the same women answered the phone and asked for the same information as previous. We asked to speak to a supervisor and she said she needed to access our account in order to transfer us. She then asked for an account number and the last 4 digits of a credit card on file. When we said we didn’t have one and just wanted to speak to a supervisor she got extremely rude, repeated herself multiple times and then hung up the phone.
Radiconn Web Services is a scam business. My uncle does not own this business and my only fear is that whoever registered this business in his name has done more damage that we still have to uncover. About 3 years ago my uncle did make mention of someone taking his money and identity, we inquired on helping him but he said that he contacted the bank and it was all taken care of.
Please help and provide any practical steps on how we can further investigate and resolve this issue.
