Type of a scam Rental

The home for rent was listed on Craigslist. I contacted them through craigslist and they replied with a rental questionnaire for us to fill out. By morning we were already approved, which should’ve been the first red flag. “Robert” give me a sob story about his dad dying and needing to move out of state immediately to take care of the family business. So he could not show us the home. He also preferred to contact us via text and not phone calls because he was hard of hearing. Then he wanted us to send him $800 via Moneygram and he would FedEx the keys and rental agreement. I was busy while he was texting myself and my spouse. My spouse did not realize it was a scam until he had already tried to wire $800. Thank God Moneygram called the credit card company to confirm, and the credit card company denied the charge. “Robert” continued to text constantly for an hour and finally quit when we didn’t respond.
