Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
RedHill Productions sent me a casting notice informing me that they were interested in hiring me for a commercial. Over the course of several emails, they confirmed my booking for the job, sent me a NDA and work contract, then had me send more information including a recent photo, telephone #, address, etc.
A counterfeit check was then mailed to me to pay for wardrobe. After the check was deposited into my account, I was instructed to wire money to a wardrobe stylist who would dress me for the shoot. I was asked to transfer the funds via MoneyGram to a name provided to me. Once the transfer was complete, my financial institution flagged my account for suspicion of fraud. Unfortunately, the funds had already been received by the scammer and I am now responsible for the loss with my bank.
