The scammer is a pre-recorded female like voice, the same for both phone numbers from DC and Texas. The recorded voice there will be legal enforcement action filed on my social security number for fraudulent activity. Please call before we begin legal proceedings.

I have these numbers blocked, but they always leave a voicemail. I continually receive these calls at least 2 or 3 times a month.

Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief

Automated greeting, final notice. Live person comes on the phone and presents credit card interest rate reduction.

If disconnected, they will call back from a toll free number. If you attempt to call that number back it gives a Verizon message persons not available. They have called and harassed me for over a year and they keep calling from different numbers.

Generally, the first call will be similar to your own cell phone number.

My thought is that Verizon is partly responsible for a breach of information in this matter.

Type of a scam Identity Theft

Caller stated that my SSN has been compromised and by order of a court (and other agency that was unintelligible) they are contacting me. As a result of the purported compromise, my SSN was being canceled and I should call the provided number to resolve the situation. The caller had a foreign accent with slightly British overtones.

Type of a scam Counterfeit Product

There are two guys who run the show selling travel trailers. They both claim it is a company but never provide company name or paperwork for trailers they sell (ie. Bill of Sale). Older guy keeps saying "everything works" over and over again but by looking at the condition of the trailers anyone who knows trailers can tell they came from junk yard or auction. Many trailers are kept on the backyard of the house and many sold to unsuspected people on daily basis for cash only. Only those who does not know a lot about trailers buy them and it is about a trailer a day. Those trailers are dangerous to take on the road at least . They post their add on Craigslist in the "rvs+camp" section and meet you in the remote area. Only when they are sure you are not followed they bring you to their backyard through Cantara Str. Their adds always have "we can deliver" message to avoid traffic on their backyard and first bad experience when you drive damaged trailer down the road.

Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

It was a recording that went on and on about the amount of free vouchers and opportunities I had one based on my credit report. I requested several times to speak to a representative and once my message was finally received I was told I would be transferred to a representative by the pre-recorded message and then the phone call immediately disconnected. I tried to call the number back to request that My Number be removed from their list and the pre-recorded message answers and states that the survey I was taking a part of has finished and the call automatically disconnected again.

Type of a scam Scholarship

Received call regarding Student Loan Forgiveness. I gave them personal identifying information and was transferred to a "specialist" (SS#, DOB, PH#) They have been persistent and keep calling me. i do have student loan debt and have a payment plan. That’s when I realized that this was a scam. They didn’t know about the plan and then they got threatening and persistent. They asked me to go to WalMart and get a green dot card to pay their fees. Calls came in from different numbers as well. I am a veteran as well. This shouldn’t happen to anyone.
