Jared Rivers

Dominic – Nov 02, 2020

I was sent a bank check for $3980 with a letter instructing me to be a Walmart secret shopper after depositing the check waiting a couple days and sending them $3500 in four separate money orders of $880 I got a phone call from my bank after five days telling me that the check was no good. It cost me almost $4000 for a lesson well learned. Jared Rivers is a fraud.

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Was written a check for $3,980.98 from Jared Rivers disguised as a "batch supervisor", for Walmart secret shopper agents. I was told to deposit the money to my bank account, and take out my commission of $300, with and extra $100 for compensation of gas and travel to my local Walmart. I was supposed to text me Rivers and update with each move and transaction I made, whilst also only communicating with him and no one else. I was ordered to take photos once money orders were purchase, and to send the receipts as well with the money orders in the mail directly to him. The letter stressed to not mention anything about the operation to anyone at Walmart. Once at Walmart I was to get (4) Walmart money orders, each for $880, and mail them all back to Mr. Rivers, all blank, and sent via FedEx air. Was also threatened in letter if I do not reach out to Mr. Rivers he will contact me via phone, or come to my place of residence to retrieve this packet. SCAM SCAM SCAM.
