I received a phone call from an unknown number. Someone or a recording on the other end said, "Hello, this is Josh from the Customer Service Department. Can you hear me okay?" I responded with "yes", and realized that I had just been scammed. Then I immediately hung up on the caller.

I’m reporting this since there has been news reports about scammers asking if you can hear them and using your "yes" as a way to tag your agreement to unwanted products and services.

Calls received about once a week, on cell phone as well as home phone. Latest was 9:16 am on 2/6/17 on my cell phone and on husband’s cell phone as well at 3:10 pm on 2/6/17. 2 weeks ago it was on our home phone. I did not speak to the question and stayed silent as the call continued on. Read the notice in the Palm Beach Post Newspaper on Saturday and so had this address to respond to. This was not a live person but a robocall.
