Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I recieved an email to submit for a job in my student email through SNHU. I figured sure, why not. I didnt guve much info, just my name and address. I received a letter in the mail today to deposit a 2400 check that is a cashier’s check, and I dont see any water mark on it. I am told in the letter to purchase 1500 worth of iTunes gift cards as well as 500 worth of amazon cards. I am then suppose to evaluate the store purchased at and scratch off the silver strip on the back of the cards and take a picture of the cards as well as the receipts and email them to the email given. I am told I am able to keep the remaining 400. There is no return address, no number to contact, no cover letter, simply a check with instructions. The name on the cashiers check says the remitted is Joseph Martin.
