"My husband and I contacted above seller in regards to an 11 week, 2 day old female chocolate lab, from what appeared to be a legitimate breeder in Baltimore MD. We live in New Hampshire.
The breeder had pictures and descriptions of the puppies on the website. We sent him $600 by Western Union The breeder took the puppy to the airport on 3-9-2017 and said he’d send us flight information. Later that afternoon we got an email from the shipper saying that the carrier/kennel was not the correct one and that we needed to rent an electronic temperature controlled carrier for $30.00 and a caution fee of $1500.00 that would be refundable once the carrier was turned in at the airport. The cashier would refund the $1500.00 in cash. I contacted the Manchester Airport who stated that live animals were not transported on one airline and the other airline stated that animals only travel with a companion. At this point it was very fishy. Both men from the scamming companies had foreign accents. That added to the worry. We decided to not send the carrier money. The seller told us he would come up with $750.00 to put towards the cost. Contacted the Police who stated that unfortunately this is not uncommon. That the scammers were probably in the Middle East.. That this scam is quit popular in Africa. Hard and expensive lesson learned.
When we could not get the Puppy we requested our money back. Seller stated he spent 75% on the flight and vet. Yet he was talking about getting a loan from a friend for the 750.00. No further responses from either "company"
