I posted my vehicle for sale on CL locally a couple days ago. Tonight I got a missed phone call and then a text asking for more info on the vehicle for sale. I gave the price again even though it is clearly posted in the title of the ad. They then asked that I go to vinreportlocator.com which sent me to another secure site named Official.Vin. They make you pay $18.95 for an official VIN report on the vehicle. I didn’t want to spend $$ to possibly sell a vehicle to someone that stated they are more than 4 hours away in San Antonio. I am in North TX around Dallas. It sounded fishy so I then looked online and found out through BBB that this is a new scam being pulled on people to possibly get personal and CC information. Don’t fall for this. Ask leading questions to verify the person is credible.
