Type of a scam Employment
I have been warned about the scam that has been going around that happens when a local number calls, tells you their name & business right away, and then asks, "can you hear me?" I answered yes without thinking of what I had heard before, and what came next immediately made it feel suspicious. So after realizing this could be potentially bad, I decided to get off the phone. To do this is first told them "I don’t have time to talk, sorry," a male voice said, "okay one second," as if he was doing something quick before I hung up, he then said hello again and then I said once again, " I don’t have time to talk now." And all he said back was, "ok" and then hung up.
I then called back just to see if it was really a jobster place, and a woman answered, she didn’t even say hello, she just started talking and said "this is a recorded line" (something strange like that) and then told me her name, (said it was Amy), and then asked me, "can you hear me ok?" I just hung up. And that was all that happened.
In the past I have received emails from them and I don’t remember if I have given them information for a job application or not, I only remember looking at jobs through jobster.
