Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
Called to say I’d won a sweepstakes of $500,000 from a sweepstakes entry that I don’t remember entering. Spoke to 3 different people, unknown lady, Gary David & Cynthia Prott.
The sweepstakes was from an overseas lottery. Asked me if I would use an IRA to pay the taxes. Then asked if I had a bank account or an IRA. Wanted to know how I’d use the money. Check would be delivered to my door on 9/14/16 between 9am -11am. Caller wanted to know what kind of ID I would use to verify who I am.
Call was disconnected before they could give me any additional details.
