Type of a scam Employment
I am currently looking for work and have uploaded my resume to a number of different recruitment websites. I was contacted via email by a man called Steve Roger who was interested in my resume and wanted to set up a telephone interview. The name of his company is Infomax Solutions and they were looking to hire an office manager / executive assistant to manage a new office opening in Denver, Colorado. I spoke to Steve on the phone and he conducted a brief interview with me. The following day he called to say I had got the job and would be in touch to discuss the role and what happens next. We spoke another couple of times and I have received some more emails from him. He explained that he would be sending me a cheque for about $4,500, and I was to use the money to set the office up- purchase furniture computers etc. I repeatedly requested information about the company and the office location etc but his reply was always ‘I will send you the information by email’. The cheque should arrive within the next couple of days. I have spoken to the BBB, Attorney Generals office and have logged the scam online on a couple of different websites. When the cheque arrives I will try and return it to sender, if thats not possible I will destroy it. I have also contacted Monster.com and they have removed and blocked him from using their website. I have kept a record of the email conversations just in case. If there is any other information required please let me know!
