Type of a scam Employment
This started off as what I thought was a chance for online employment. I had seen a rise in legitimate online work as Administrative Assistant and the like, and thought that this was the case as well. Mark Stern and I have only conversed via email, but the emails themselves were riddled with grammatical errors. He also asked for my bank info via email; I declined and directed him to my Paypal, as I did not keep money in that account as a security measure. Today, I received a check in the mail for $2,550.32 that was supposedly for paying for shipping costs of a laptop and printer as well as purchasing software. My bank verified that it was fraudulent, and the check itself was properly disposed of. I do not have an image of the check. This person also keeps trying to contact me asking if I have deposited the check into my account.
