Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

A woman named Faith originally called offering to rent my father’s timeshare in Mexico for 10 years offering him $28K for it. She said she was a broker and she emailed him requiring him a form to fill out to open up a bank account where his money would be deposited. Luckily, I asked him to share the emails with me and I noticed the lack of information from the bank. I called the Title Company and requested some basic information from the company like their address, etc. and the person that answered the phone didn’t "feel comfortable" sharing that information with me until I provided him with information as to who I was and if I had an account open with them. I did a little more research on the internet and found that they had been trying to scam people out of money by offering to buy their timeshares, but not before paying large amounts of money for closing costs, etc. They are very well spoken and are extremely convincing. We were lucky to not become one of their victims.
