Type of a scam Employment
In November 2019, I received an email from a job I applied for through the www.indeed.com website. They have an email feature and I was contacted through this feature. They offered me a job on a temporary basis and asked for: Photo of Drivers License / ID front and back, a selfie, and last 4 digits of Social Security #. I had called P&D Appliance at (*** *** and was nonchalantly told that their Indeed account had been hacked and I should go to Identytheft.gov to take the necessary precautions. He also said I wasn’t the only one, a lot of people as far as New York, I am in San Francisco had called. They should have reached out to all the victims to let us know about the scam. This was disappointing. Lastly, I contacted Indeed, I had a lot of standard emails directing to me to the Terms and Conditions and Security pages on their website. They were not helpful as well as I dealt with multiple Job Seeker Success Specialist, who picked up where the other left off, so it was very receptive and never apologetic or helpful.
