Type of a scam Employment
I was contacted by this company to interview for a position as a graphic designer. The person who contacted me said that the first part of the interview would be held over google hangouts. Seeing as we are in a time of quarantine, I didn’t think this was too unusual.
After arranging the interview time and spending an hour answering standard interview questions for the position, the interviewer said the he thought I was a good match and would confirm the hire with the rest of the hiring staff.
It had been about 20 minutes until I heard back about my official acceptance for the position.
I was so excited. Then they started to ask for my information to put into their system. I only gave standard information but I was a bit skeptical after talking to my mom who mentioned that someone she knew had a similar experience that ended up being fake.
That is when I started to research the company even more. I realized that the photos they used were blurry on their website or just stock images.
