I was on Indeed sending out my resume looking for jobs. I had a job who contacted me by text and email. They were pretending to be a legit company named Halo Pharmaceutical. I didn’t suspect something until the so called "manager said to purchase gift cards". They sent a start up check to have deposited into my account and then that’s when they dropped the bomb on me. Please make sure you guys watch out for things like this. I’m a college student just looking for work and could’ve ruined my life simply by trying to find a job. Everything up to the point of buying gift cards seemed liked a legit business job. The letter of employment was legit, I don’t know how they were able to use that. I don’t know why Indeed doesn’t filter out stuff like this, it’s super dangerous and they could get sued. Please be careful everyone. I had to notify my bank and the police right away because I started to get threats as well.
