Type of a scam Phishing
These people have come to my home 4 times and posted notices on my door addressed to ‘the occupants’. It said our mortgage holder had requested an occupancy check and wanted the names and phone numbers of all occupants over the age of 18. The initial number given I called and it sounded like the bank that holds the mortgage on my home but it went to someone’s voicemail. I then called the general number for my bank and they told me that the phone number I was given was in no way associated with them and they do not ever employ companies to go to their clients’ homes for anything. That if for some reason they needed to have me confirm something it would be sent by mail. They told me to disregard it as it is a scam. I also called and checked with my insurance company to make sure that they didn’t request a check on my property and they also confirmed they have no association with this company and requested no such thing. They came to my home twice in December and now twice in January. I am ready to call the police because they clearly have ill-intent and continue to show up at my home with no legitimate reason.
