Type of a scam Nigerian/Foreign Money Exchange
Received letter approx. 27Mar2018 from law firm Bill Millman & Associates in Toronto, Ontario, Canada which stated that a client had died and left a large sum of money ($2 million) to me. Letter stated that I took care of deceased in my capacity as a nurse in a local hospital.
I telephoned contact person, Cory Grant Esq at (888) 298-8797 was instructed to fax personal information and notarized signature to a Jordan McFarlane at the law office of Goldman Associates (a fax number in Pittsburg PA was given (888) 298-8797).
At this point a cashiers check was sent to me in the amount of $2 million, but I was instructed to mail first a personal check to cover Canadian taxes before I could cash the cashiers check. At this point I stopped the process.
