Type of a scam Phishing
received a pop up warning of a virus infecting my computer that will steal my banking info, finances, and personal data. they go on saying to call this number asap to resolve issue. stating they are working for microsoft. i called the number they tell you to click here and get into your computer. they install programs like anti virus, network safety meanwhile they download a program where they can see all your personal info. charge you and ask for credit card number. charged 188.00. i caught on because of police warning on fb. thank god because i would have left it alone. brought laptop in to get factory reset and everything deleted, changed all banking info. they are not who they say they are, heavy accents with american names. i called them and told them i caught on to their scam and reported them to police. she called back with theatening message.
