Type of a scam Online Purchase

My son who is a minor wanted a German shepherd puppy. He saved up his money to purchase a puppy online. He found a website that he thought was legit www.crestviewgermanshepherd.com

He was in contact with the seller through texts. The process was took like 2 weeks and sounded legit. He sent my son who is a minor the contract with all the details of the dog. He told him they were AKC approved. My son signed the contract and sent back to him. The person was very nice and gave him lots of details. He then told my son to send money through Zelle. my son who has no idea he was being scammed sent the $850 dollars. The person then sent my son a tracking number telling him dog would arrive a certain day and time the dog never arrived. My son texted The person and they told him the shipping company was really busy and he receive the next day. The dog never arrived and he didn’t answer texts anymore. He then texted my son and told him “money is sweet. We figured out it was all a scam.
